On the train to Montreal.
If I lived down here I might be tempted to do some paintings from what
you can see from train windows, and how speed changes things.
But I can't see living down here as long as I can live in the Yukon.
I'm almost there so I'll be brief.
Been working like stink on the train, getting my website in better order. I
might launch the newer version as soon as the next few days. I hope it
works.
Had a wonderful visit with my friend Chris Cavanagh and his family. Here's
Chris' blog.
I also worked really hard at my Mom's house dispersing stuff. My tasks
for the rest of the trip are a little more relaxed. But it's important,
especially living in the Yukon, to visit galleries and soak up a wider art
world while I'm down here.
Still, I have a great appetite just to be home right now. I'll be home by Feb.
2. Yay! Can't wait to get back into the studio, making dresses of
scavenged things and small ravens in three different media. Skiing in the
morning with my dog.

Jan 29, 2012. Montreal.
Saw some amazing shows yesterday. I'm grateful to Lori Beavis for
taking me around with her to shows so that I didn't have to figure out
stuff with maps.
Click here to see the website for one of them. It felt like
a day really well spent. And then the Friends of Dorothy at Concordia
screened Bent - what an awesome film.
Feb 21, 2012, At the studio at Cadence Cycle. Laura Hutchinson has been painting in the studio with me,
using me as a sort of mentor. I think it's awesome, very much self-directed learning, which is the
best...Nowhere near 100 small ravens painted but some cool ones I think - check some out at my paintings
blog linked above...
